Largely dry, fine and very warm conditions prevail this week. Turning mixed at the weekend and into next week.

Thursday 22/07/21
Cloud becoming more widespread across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales on Thursday. Variable cloud cover across Scotland too but lengthy sunny spells elsewhere. The odd shower could develop across parts of Wales as the day progresses but largely dry elsewhere. Highs at a muggy 20 to 29C.

Friday 23/07/21
Low pressure begins to move closer towards southern parts of the UK and Ireland on Friday. Some rain could reach southern regions of Ireland through the day. Elsewhere, mainly dry with variable cloud cover, turning thicker though in the south of England in advance of rain moving in later on in the evening here. Feeling muggy again with highs 20 to 27C.

Saturday 24/07/21
On Saturday low pressure moves in and outbreaks of rain will affect southern and central England as well as Wales. Some brighter spells across northern England into southern Scotland where it should remain dry. More cloud further north and west where there could be some showery rain affecting west Scotland and western parts of Ireland for a time. Highs at 21 to 26C for many, cooler within the cloud and rain further south.

Sunday 25/07/21
Low pressure tracks eastwards towards the near continent on Sunday. Outbreaks of rain, some heavy, will affect southern England mainly then become confined to the southeast corner. Sunshine and showers are forecast for western areas. Drier further east elsewhere. Highs at a muggy 20 to 26C for many, cooler across the southeast corner.

Monday 26/07/21
Low pressure to the east while a ridge attempts to build further west. A largely dry day with variable cloud cover, some showery rain expected, more so further east. Drier towards the west. Highs at 17 to 26C.

Tuesday 27/07/21
A weak ridge brings largely dry and fair conditions on Tuesday, although low pressure in the Atlantic looks to create cloudier skies further west as the day progresses. Possible rain for west Ireland towards the end of the day. Highs at 17 to 26C.
