Very warm for many with plenty of sunshine, then more cloud and a few showers next week
Increasing temperatures through the rest of this week and into the weekend, becoming very warm for many areas. There will be increasing amounts of sunshine too, although always more cloud in the far north of Scotland. A tendency for more cloud into next week and a few spots of showery rain to the south as it feels more muggy too.

High pressure remains affecting the British Isles on Saturday. Once again this is going to bring a fine day with lots of very warm sunshine to almost all areas. There is a risk of some more cloud in the far northwest of Scotland, but it should be dry here too. Sea breezes developing around the coasts. Highs at 17C in northwest Scotland, 23 to 29C elsewhere.
High pressure over Ireland extends into the British Isles on Sunday. This is going to be bringing another dry and very warm day for most. Thicker cloud in central and northern Scotland. This is likely to be bringing some rain into the north of Scotland, Shetland and Orkney. Highs at 16C in the far north of Scotland, 22 to 29C elsewhere.
The remnants of a front passing south through Scotland and then into northern England and Ireland on Monday. Pressure remains high for all. There will be some cloud along the front and this could trigger a few showers over the high ground of northern England, and later scattered showers in Wales and southern England. Plenty of sunshine elsewhere. Highs at 18C in northern Scotland, widely 22 to 28C.
Pressure remains mostly high on Tuesday, although lower pressure beginning to arrive to the south of Ireland. There is likely to be more cloud developing on Tuesday, but sunny spells and largely dry for most too. However, scattered showers developing over high ground into the afternoon. Highs at 18 to 25C.
Lower pressure remains to the south of Ireland on Wednesday. This pushes cloud and some outbreaks of patchy rain north into Ireland, Wales and southwest England. A few showers in northern England and central Scotland too. The best of any bright spells in northern areas, a risk of some mist and fog around southern and western coasts and hills. Highs at 18 to 25C and feeling muggy.
Some cloud and spots of rain in southern Ireland and the southern half of England as well as much of Wales on Thursday. A few bright spells for Northern Ireland and northern England. Thicker cloud in Scotland, mostly dry although a few spots of rain in the far north. Highs at a muggy 19 to 25C.
