Very warm or hot for many, mostly dry and then a sign of a change next weekend

Very warm over the coming days over most of the country, some hot days as well. It is going to be generally dry, although the chance of an isolated showers in the middle of the week. There are some signs of a change next weekend to more mixed and slightly cooler conditions.

Tuesday 26/5/26
High pressure west of Scotland on Tuesday. There may be some morning cloud in central and eastern areas but this will be clearing quickly. The day is then fine with lots of sunshine. Staying dry throughout and becoming hot again too. Highs widely 27 to 31C, 24C in southern Scotland, 14C in northwest Scotland, 22 to 25C in Ireland.


 

Wednesday 27/5/26
High pressure off eastern coasts of the country through Wednesday. Plenty of sunshine for most in a southeast breeze. A low chance of some mist or fog patches affecting eastern coasts. Highs at 18 to 25C.

 
 
 

Thursday 28/5/26
Weak fronts bring cloud and some outbreaks of rain to Ireland and western parts of Scotland and Wales on Thursday. Low cloud in the coasts in the west too. Sunnier and drier in the east. Highs at 19 to 26C.



 
 
 

Friday 29/5/26
Pressure stays high for Friday. Good spells of sunshine through the day, a low risk of a shower in the southeast. More cloud in the far northwest of Scotland with some outbreaks of rain here. Highs at 18C in northwest Scotland, 29C in southeast England.


 

Saturday 30/5/26
High pressure remains on Saturday. Probably more cloud around than recent days, but still some good spells of sunshine. Highs at 28C in the southeast, 14C in northwest Scotland.

Sunday 31/5/26
Fronts may pass east on Sunday bringing a cloudier day. Outbreaks of rain at times, most north and east. Perhaps brighter in the west. Highs at 16 to 24C.
