Hot, sunny and dry for most, hints of fresher weather late in the weekend

Hot conditions are going to be continuing over the next few days. There will be plenty of sunshine and it should be dry for most. Some cloud in northern Scotland. Indications of some cloud and patchy rain in the far west of Thursday, then things turning fresher and more mixed by Sunday.

Wednesday 27/5/26
High pressure west of Scotland on Wednesday. There may be some morning cloud in central and eastern areas but this will be clearing quickly. The day is then fine with lots of sunshine. Staying dry throughout and becoming hot again too. A fresh southeast breeze developing. Highs at 27C southern England and south Wales, 16C on eastern coasts, widely 20 to 22C elsewhere.

Weak fronts bring cloud and some outbreaks of rain to Ireland and western parts of Scotland and Wales on Thursday. Brighter and drier in central and eastern areas with good spells of sunshine. Highs at 20 to 28C.

Pressure stays high for Friday. Good spells of sunshine through the day. More cloud in the far northwest of Scotland with some outbreaks of rain here. Highs at 18C in northwest Scotland, 26C in southeast England.



 
 
 

Saturday 30/5/26
High pressure remains on Saturday. Probably more cloud around than recent days, but still some good spells of sunshine. Rain into western Ireland. Highs at 29C in the southeast, 18C in northwest Scotland.



 
 
 

Sunday 31/5/26
Indications of a more westerly flow becoming established on Sunday. Feeling cooler for all. Sunshine and showers, most in northwest England and western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Mainly dry in eastern England. Highs at 15C in northern Scotland, 17C in Ireland, 24C in southeast England.

Monday 1/6/26
Lower pressure north of Scotland on Monday. Fronts bringing rain will be crossing Ireland, Wales and England. Precipitation more showers in Scotland. Cool and breezy, highs at 16 to 21C.
