Wet and windy until the weekend, gradually becoming drier and milder next week

Unsettled weather continues into the weekend. Low pressure areas will be bringing cloud and periods of rain, some of them heavy. A risk of some snow over the high ground of Scotland and northern England too. Turning colder for Sunday, but then a general improvement in the weather next week.
