Christmas Day 25/12/19
A ridge of high pressure will build across the UK and Ireland for Christmas day. Then maybe some mist and fog patches in the morning but these will clear to leave a fine day with plenty of sunshine. Showers may affect northern and western Scotland. Thick cloud and some rain together with stronger winds affecting western Island later. Highs at 6 to 8C.
Boxing Day 26/12/19
A small area of low pressure passes east on Boxing Day. There is much uncertainty in the detail of the weather but it does look as if it will become wetter from the west during the day.
