An area of low pressure over the North Sea brings a chilly northerly flow to northern parts of the UK on Tuesday. As it moves east through the day winds ease and showery outbreaks of rain over Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England dry up. A weak low to the southwest of Ireland brings a weak westerly flow over much of Ireland, Wales and southern parts of England. Outbreaks of rain affect western coasts and hills here. Drier to the east. Highs range from 14 or 15C in the north to 21C in the south.
Low pressure over Ireland on Wednesday keeps conditions rather mixed into mid-week. Showery outbreaks of rain affect most areas - these heaviest over southern and eastern parts of England. Staying drier over the far north of Scotland with some spells of sunshine here. Becoming brighter too for Ireland and western parts of the UK later. Highs range from 15C to 22C.
Thursday sees low pressure filling up over the British Isles but conditions will still stay somewhat mixed. Higher pressure to the southwest brings drier conditions here for much of the day. Elsewhere, there are likely to be scattered showers, these heavist over northern England, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Highs of 14 to 22C.
A little uncertainty over Friday's forecast but it looks as though we may see the arrival of an area of low pressure from the Atlantic bringing frequent outbreaks of rain to the UK and Ireland. These spread from east to west through the day and look to affect much of the country. Breezy to the south with highs of 15 to 22C.
Low pressure may move to the northeast allowing a northwesterly flow to develop across the UK and Ireland. Showers affect northwestern-facing coasts and hills and it is a breezy day for most. Brighter and drier to the southeast. High temperatures of 15 to 20C.
A weak, transient ridge of high pressure may develop over the British Isles bringing a short-lived spell of drier, brighter conditions. Showers affect eastern coasts at times while another area of low pressure may arrive to the west later. Highs of 15 to 23C.
