Unsettled with rain and showers, some wintry on hills, then potentially drier next week
The unsettled weather will be continues this week. Heavy rain and showers at the end of the week and through the weekkend. Turning colder as well with some wintry weather on hills of Wales, northern England and Scotland. Hints of some drier and milder weather developing into next week.

Thursday 29/2/24 Low pressure northwest of Scotland on Thursday. A cold front passes east bringing squally bursts of rain to northern and western England and Wales in the morning, these then clearing East Anglia and southeast England by early afternoon. Heavy showers and sunny spells follow through Ireland, Scotland and then western England. The showers turning increasingly wintry on hills in the north and west. Winds increasing is Scotland and Ireland too. Highs at 6 to 8C in the west as colder air arrives, 11C in the milder southeast.
Friday 1/3/24 The area of low pressure affects the whole of the British Isles on Friday, centred north of Scotland. A cold and unsettled day with rain and showers. The rain may be heavy in southern and eastern England, clearing east. Showers then affecting the north and west, some heavy and thundery. The showers wintry on hills in the north and west. Strong winds in the south. Highs at 10C in the south, 5 to 7C north and west.
Saturday 2/3/24 Low pressure remains on Saturday. Another mixed day with showers. Most of the showers in the north and west where some of them could be heavy. Despite some showers in the east too there will be some areas which are drier. Highs at 5 to 8C.
Sunday 3/3/24 Low pressure remains on Sunday. Heavy showers, especially in the north and west where some are thundery. Drier to the south and east. The showers may be wintry over northern hills. Highs at 5 to 9C.
Monday 4/3/24 Showers in Scotland and Ireland as well as many western areas on England and Wales on Monday. Tending to be drier in the east. Highs at 6 to 9C.
Tuesday 5/3/24 Higher pressure may build into more southern and eastern areas on Tuesday bringing drier weather. A southwest flow in Ireland and Scotland gives cloud and rain in the west. Highs near 6 to 10C.
