A mixed to unsettled pattern emerging
There is much uncertainty as to how the weather develops into the weekend and next week. Some models are predicting wet conditions, others just a few showers. Mixed to unsettled weather at times is to be expected with blustery winds. Cooler for a time too next week.

Saturday 16/9/23 High pressure ridges into Scotland and Ireland on Saturday bringing fair conditions here. Cloudier skies for other places with a front giving patchy rain and low cloud to nrothern England, Wales and southwest England. Drier and warmer further southeast. Windy across southern areas. Highs at 14 to 17C in the north and west, 22 to 27C through southern and southeastern areas.
Sunday 17/9/23 Sunday sees high pressure over Scotland gets progressively pushed eastwards seeing cloud build and winds strengthen here though it should stay dry. Elsewhere is more dominated by lower pressure that is to the south of Ireland. Outbreaks of rain and blustery winds are expected for many though southeastern areas looking to stay dry and still warm. Highs at 15C in western Scotland, 25C in southeast England.
Monday 18/9/23 The country is under the influence of an area of low pressure on Monday. This brings periods of rain and showers to much of the British Isles although the detail is still uncertain. Highs at 15C in western Scotland, 22C in southeast England.
Tuesday 19/9/23 Low pressure remains on Tuesday. This brings a mixed day of sunshine and showers. Most showers in the west and south where some will be heavy and prolonged. Breezy in the south too. A cool day with highs at 12 to 19C.
Wednesday 20/9/23 Rain gradually clears from the west across southern areas on Wednesday. Wet also across northern Scotland. Otherwise a dry and fine day with sunny spells. Highs at 15 to 21C.
Thursday 21/9/23 Largely dry on Thursday, though a weak front could give more cloud and some patchy rain to northern areas for a time. Highs at 15 to 22C.
