Chillier next week with the risk of wintry showers later
It is looking much chillier next week with the liklihood of overnight frosts and chillier mornings high. Largely settled with mist and fog still expected. Mostly dry though wintry showers could affect parts of Scotland and regions towards North Sea coasts.

Sunday 19/12/21 High pressure pushes slightly further north of Scotland on Sunday. More mist and fog again through Scotland but likely to extend into northern and central England in particular. The fog slow to clear through the day. Staying dry. Highs at 6 to 10C.
Monday 20/12/21 The high pressure centre pulls back over Scotland on Monday. A chillier morning than of late but most places staying frost free. Plenty of mist and fog through much of the country. Cloudier skies across the southeast of England and southern English coasts where there is the risk of drizzle. Highs at 4 to 8C.
Tuesday 21/12/21 The area of high pressure remains on Tuesday. A touch of frost to start for some. A chillier day generally particularly where mist and fog linger. Staying mostly dry though some patchy wintry precipitation looks to push southwards into northern and northeastern regions of Scotland. Highs at 3 to 7C.
Wednesday 22/12/21 A more widespread frosty start on Wednesday. High pressure remains the dominant weather feature across the country, though a weak front will push more cloud and some wintry showers into northern and eastern Scotland as well as down some eastern English coasts. A chillier day still. Highs at 3 to 6C.
Thursday 23/12/21 A cloudy day for most on Thursday though still a forsty start for some, particularly further west. Wintry showers could continue to pepper North Sea coasts as well as across northern Scotland. A band of rain, though likely to be preceeded by sleet and snow, will push across Ireland into parts of Northern Ireland, southwest Wales and southwest England. Another cool day. Highs at 3 to 8C.
Friday 24/12/21 Friday is a largely dry day though again cloud and wintry precipitation looks to affect north and east Scotland, snow falling over the Cairngorms is likely, as well as down eastern English coasts. Another cool day for most. Highs at 4 to 9C.
