Low pressure stays to the east on Thursday. This allows for fronts to pass south bringing rain into much of Scotland and northern England, as well as Northern Ireland. Behind the rain band will be much colder weather with a mix of sunshine and wintry showers over the hills of northern Scotland. The rain reaches north wales, the Midlands and East Anglia in the afternoon. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 11C in southern England.
A ridge of high pressure builds into the northwest. Colder, northerly winds bringing some showers down eastern coasts of Scotland and England, some of them wintry on hills. An area of cloud and some showers could affect the far south of Ireland, southwest Wales and southwest England too. Elsewhere dry and bright with plenty of sunshine after a morning frost. Colder for all with highs at 4 to 8C.
A ridge of high pressure extends from the northwest. This brings a further risk of some wintry showers to northern Scotland. Most areas will be dry and sunny after a frosty start. The threat of some more persistent rain in the far southwest. Highs at 4 to 7C.
Another chilly start to the day on Sunday with higher pressure to the west and lower pressure to the east. Some showers around western, northern and eastern coasts, these wintry. Sunny spells elsewhere. Highs at 3 to 5C.
Little change in the cool north to northwest flow. A few wintry showers around the western, northern and eastern coasts. Drier to the south. Good spells of sunshine elsewhere. Highs at 4 to 6C.
The area of high pressure slips south on Tuesday. This brings another frosty start to most of England, Wales and Ireland as well as eastern Scotland. However, more cloud and some drizzle may affect western Scotland and northwest Ireland. Highs at 5C in southern England, 7C in northwest Scotland.
