An unsettled start and mild, becoming colder and brighter through the weekend
Showers and outbreaks of rain during the next couple of day. It is going to be mild across the south, but then turning colder from the north on Thursday and into Friday. Wintry showers may develop over the hills of Scotland and northern England. Saturday brings a risk of wind and some rain in the far south, remaining cold. Mostly dry into next week and cold too, but low cloud and drizzle becoming an increasing risk on western coasts and hills.

A ridge of high pressure extends through the UK and Ireland on Friday. This is going to be bringing cold weather with good spells of sunshine. Some showers along eastern coasts of Scotland and England, these wintry over the hills of Scotland. The remnants of a front over southern England and south Wales bringing some showery rain here. Highs at 4 to 7C.
A ridge of high pressure extends from the northwest. This brings a further risk of some wintry showers to northern Scotland. Most areas will be dry and sunny after a frosty start. The threat of some more persistent rain in the far southwest. Highs at 4 to 7C.
Another chilly start to the day on Sunday with higher pressure to the west and lower pressure to the east. Some showers around western, northern and eastern coasts, these wintry on hills. Sunny spells elsewhere. Highs at 3 to 6C.
High pressure remains over Ireland and much of the UK. It is going to be dry with sunny spells, although the threat of isolated mist and fog patches at first. MOre cloud and some drizzle or patchy rain in northern Scotland. Highs at 4 to 6C.
High pressure remains over the south of the UK and ~Ireland on Tuesday. A southwest wind brings more cloud into Scotland, northern England and Ireland with some drizzle and low cloud affecting western coasts and hills. Drier in the east with the best sunshine to the south. Highs at 3 to 7C.
Pressure stays high in the south on Tuesday. This brings plenty of dry weather to many parts of southern England, Wales and eastern Ireland. Some low cloud and drizzle affecting western Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 5 to 8C.
