Very warn at first then turning thundery for some, before fresher and more mixed by the weekend
Fine and very warm for most over the next couple of days and generally dry too. Thundery rain later on Wednesday and Thursday for England and Wales leading to a more mixed or unsettled weekend as low pressure settled west of Scotland. Turning fresher later in the week too with stronger winds.

Thursday 1/8/24 An area of low pressure brings a period of heavy, thundery, showery rain across much of England and Wales overnight into Thursday. There could be some local torrential downpours of rain, especially in central, eastern and southern England. Probably becoming brighter and drive from the west as the day progresses and turning fresher as well. Some showers in Northwest Scotland and a few showers across the southern uplands but otherwise it should be dry here. Sunny spells and mostly dry weather in Ireland. Highs at a muggy 29C in eastern England, generally 22 to 24C, 17C in northwest Scotland.
Friday 2/8/24 Low pressure west of Scotland on Friday. This brings stronger winds and rain to Ireland and much of the west of the UK. Eastern areas of Scotland and England may be dry at first, but then a risk of showers later. Highs at 28C in East Anglia, turning cooler in the west at 19C.
Saturday 3/8/24 Low pressure remains west of Scotland on Saturday. This brings heavy showers to western Scotland a northwest Ireland. Elsewhere it will be bright and fresher with sunny spells and a scattering of showers. Temperatures at 17 to 22C but still to 24C in the southeast.
Sunday 4/8/24 The area of low pressure remains through Sunday. Wet for much of Ireland and western Scotland, with the rain spreading east through the afternoon. Highs at 18 to 24C.
Monday 5/8/24 Low pressure remains northwest of Scotland on Monday. This is set to bring more mixed weather with heavy showers affecting many areas. More persistent rain may be across southeast England. Highs at 16 to 24C.
Tuesday 6/8/24 The area of low pressure passes north of Scotland on Tuesday. Another breezy and mixed day of weather. Sunshine and heavy showers, most in the north and west. Fresher for all with highs at 15 to 22C.
