Stormy conditions bring widespread gales, rain, hill snow and high seas

Atlantic weather systems arrive through the weekend and beyond with some stormy conditions developing. Widespread gales or severe gales from Sunday onward. High seas will affect the coastlines, particularly western and southern parts of Britain and Ireland.

Monday 10/02/20
Chillier air moves in from the northwest and it stays very windy across the country. Strong to gale force westerlies will drive frequent pulses of rain across Britain and Ireland. Snow over hills to the north and west and potentially to lower levels in the north. Drier to the east with some bright spells. Highs at 3 to 8C.
 

Tuesday 11/02/20
A threat of stormy winds for northern Britain as deep low pressure systems stay in charge to our north. Areas of heavy rain and snow, perhaps falling to low levels in Scotland. Mainly dry toward the East Midlands and southeast. Chilly with high temperatures at 2 to 6C.
 

Wednesday 12/02/20
A generally disturbed weather pattern continues, perhaps a deep low tracking across the British Isles later in the day bringing heavy rain, snow in the north. Prior to this it continues showery to the west, drier and brighter to the east. Gales, risk of severe gales transferring southwards. Highs at 2 to 7C.
 

Thursday 13/02/20
Early rain clears to the east leaving a bright, breezy day with blustery showers. Showers most frequent to the west where some will fall as sleet and snow. Drier and brighter to the east. High temperatures at 3 to 7C.

Friday 14/02/20
Friday may start dry and fine for much of the UK but rain and strong winds are likely to spread from the west across central and southern areas through the day. Drier to the north. Highs at 4 to 11C.

Saturday 15/02/20
Conditions continue rather mixed on Saturday with showers, outbreaks of rain, hill snow and some bright spells. Rain heaviest to the southwest. Windy again for southern areas. Highs of 1 to 7C.
