Temperatures staying above, or well above, average for the time of year
Mild temperatures continue through the coming week as high pressure stays to the south and southeast of the UK and Ireland. Frontal systems will affect northwestern areas at times bringing spells of wet and windy weather at times.

Weak fronts edge slowly southeastward across the UK on Monday.These will bring cloud to northwestern and southeastern areas and some light rain to Ireland, western Scotland, Wales and the northwest of England. The best of the brightness will be for northern England, eastern Wales and the southwest of England. Windy in the north. High temperatures near 7 to 12C.
A ridge of high pressure may build across the country early on Tuesday though a frontal system will bring cloud and rain to western areas later in the day. This allows for some morning mist and fog patches and perhaps an early frost before cloud builds from the west. Light rain will reach most of Ireland, southwestern Scotland, northwestern England and north Wales through the afternoon. Breezy in the west. Highs at 7 to 11C.
High pressure stays over the south and east of the UK on Wednesday but low pressure remains to the northwest. A cloudy day for most with the exception of the southeast of England. Light rain and drizzle will affect much of Ireland and Scotland as well as higher ground in Wales and the northwest of England. Highs around 8 to 13C.
High pressure builds again on Thursday allowing for a brighter day for much of England and Wales. Any morning rain over Scotland and Ireland should ease with the exception of the western coast of Ireland where rain may persist through the day. Overcast for much of the day for Ireland and Scotland. Breezy in the west. High temperatures at 10 to 15C.
High pressure shifts to the east bringing the UK and Ireland into a southerly airflow. Cloud will build from the west through the day bringing rain to Ireland and southwestern parts of Scotland, England and Wales through the afternoon. A breezier day for most areas. Highs at 11 to 15C.
A south to south-southwesterly air flow persists on Saturday bringing a mostly dry and bright day. A band of rain should clear Ireland and Scotland by the early afternoon. Staying breezy in the west. High temperatures at 10 to 15C.
