Hot in the coming days, a few showers in the west then possibly fresher next week
Hot weather continues for the coming days. Generally dry although a few thundery showers affecting western and northern areas. Much uncertainty over the forecasts into the early stages of next week but indications are that there may fresher weather developing with a risk of rain and showers.

Friday 8/9/23 High pressure remains on Friday bringing plenty of dry weather. There will be good spells of sunshine and it is going to be hot again. A low risk of a few showers in the far southwest of England as well as central parts of Ireland. Highs at 32C in eastern England, 25C in Ireland and eastern Scotland with 17C in northwest Scotland.
Saturday 9/9/23 Higher pressure again on Saturday. Dry for most areas with sunny spells and staying hot. Scattered thunderstorms forming in southern Scotland and northern Ireland. Highs near 22 to 31C.
Sunday 10/9/23 Cloud and some outbreaks of rain passing north through Ireland and western parts of Scotland and Wales on Sunday. More eastern areas tending to be drier, although one or two showers here. Highs at a hot 32C in East Anglia and southeast England, 23C in Ireland and eastern Scotland, 17C in western Scotland.
Monday 11/9/23 Thundery rain and showers drifting north through the country on Monday and a warm day again too.Low pressure brings some rain to western Scotland and Ireland, some of it heavy and thundery. Highs at 28C in East Anglia, 18C in Ireland and Scotland.
Tuesday 12/9/23 Fresher weather on Tuesday with low pressure north of Scotland. A mix of sunshine and showers, the heaviest of these in the north and west, although note very low confidence oin the forecast. Highs at 17 to 23C.
Wednesday 13/9/23 A fair day in southern and eastern areas with sunshine. Low pressure north of Scotland bringing cloud and rain here with further rain in western Ireland. Highs at 16 to 24C.
