The week ahead is going to be remaining changeable. Spells of rain on some days, but there will be a few drier days too as ridges of high pressure builds. Remaining mild overall.

Friday 16/2/24 Low pressure to the east on Friday. Rain for much of northern and eastern England as well as eastern Scotland at frist. Brighter for Ireland and southern England and Wales as well as the far north of Scotland with the brighter weather spreading east. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 14C in southern England.
Saturday 17/2/24 A ridge of higher pressure builds on Saturday allowing for some morning mist and fog patches. These clear and then the day should be fair with sunny spells. Rain drifting into Ireland and becoming more persistent and heavier, then reaching southwest Scotland, western Wales and southwest England by evening. Highs at 8 to 13C.
Sunday 18/2/24 Low pressure over England and Wales on Sunday. This brings cloud and rain, some of it heavy in places. Probably drier and brighter for Scotland and most of Ireland. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 15C in southern England.
Monday 19/2/24 Higher pressure builds in on Monday. There will be a fair amount of cloud. A risk of some drizzle in north-west Scotland, but other areas of the British Isles should stay dry with some bright spells. Highs at 8 to 12C.
Tuesday 20/2/24 A fair start to the day through central and eastern areas, some bright and sunny spells. Thickening cloud over Ireland and western parts of the UK with rain here. Highs 9 to 11C.
Wednesday 21/2/24 An unsettled day on Wednesday. Wind and rain, gales for many. Heavy rain in the west. Highs at 9 to 12C.
