A changeable weather pattern prevails, although it will feel warmer this week especially in the south and east. Rain most common toward the west and north, but a risk of most places seeing rain at times.

Wednesday 17/7/24 A weak area of high pressure to the southeast. Variable cloud and sunny spells, best in eastern districts in the morning. Sunnier near to coasts in the south and west in the afternoon and evening. Thickening cloud across Ireland with some rain moving into the west later, risk of more widespread rain for Ireland by evening then arriving across western Britain into the night. Light south to southwesterly breezes. Highs 18 to 25C, warmest southeast England.
Thursday 18/7/24 Central, south and eastern England likely to stay largely dry. Variable cloud and some sun, best in the east. A front draped across Scotland and Ireland brings cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle, some local showery pulses of rain at times. Some drizzly rain on and off for west Wales. Light winds overall. Highs 17 to 25C, warmest in London area.
Friday 19/7/24 Changeable weather continues to affect the north and northwest with rain for Ireland and western Scotland. Some patchy rain for northwest England and west Wales. Mostly dry toward the south and east with a little sun. Southwesterly breezes. Highs 16 to 24C, warmest southeast.
Saturday 20/7/24 Risk of a frontal system moving eastwards across Britain bringing a spell of rain - uncertainty of extent of heavier rain. Showers follow in the west and north. Breezy in the south. Cool if rain persists. Highs 16 to 22C.
Sunday 21/7/24 Westerly breezes in the south bring a risk of some patchy rain. Fairly cloudy for many. Drier toward the northeast with some sun. Highs 16 to 23C.
Monday 22/7/24 Mixed westerlies prevail. Showery in the west and north. Drier and brighter toward the southeast. Highs 16 to 23C.
