Wednesday 17/01/2024
A showery day for the northern and western parts, with snow showers being heavy and blustery over Northern Ireland, the Hebrides, the Northern Isles, Sutherland and Caithness, Northwest Highland, Moray and Northern Aberdeenshire. A few showers are possible over northwest England too, these wintry down to the surface. Further south there is a risk for thicker cloud and snow to arrive over the southern parts of England, but still there is low confidence on this forecast. In case snow arrives in snow, it will result in some accumulations of fresh snow even down to low levels. It will be another cold day with temperatures at around freezing in north in the afternoon, but up to 3C in south.

Thursday 18/01/2024
Any snow from the south will clear early in the day, with a mostly dry and bright Thursday following. Further north, it will be a showery day with snow showers over Northern Ireland, the Hebrides, the Northern Isles, Sutherland and Caithness, Northwest Highland, Moray and Northern Aberdeenshire. Occasional showers are possible over the coastal areas of North Yorkshire, Humbershire, Lincolnshire, Nortfok and Suffolk too, but here they will be lighter. Best of the drier and brighter weather is expected over southwest England and south Wales. Afternoon temperatures at around freezing in north in the afternoon, but up to 3C in south.

Friday 19/01/2024
As high pressure pushes east through Friday most of the showers over Northern Ireland, England and Wales will clear away. Showers will continue over Scotland but as the air will become milder snow will turn back to rain and become confined over the far northwest. A strong southwesterly wind will develop over Scotland, but light winds elsewhere. Temperatures rising to 2C in north but 5C in south.

Saturday 20/01/2024
Higher pressure in southeast will result in a dry day over England and Wales, but rather cloudy and breezy. Over Northern Ireland and Scotland it will be cloudy and windy with outbreaks of rain, this becoming heavy, and possibly persistent over the western with snow over the west Highlands. A milder than of late day, with afternoon temperatures at around 6-7C for most parts.

Sunday 21/01/2024
A deep low pressure system is expected to track eastwards across the country with strong winds and heavy rain in places. Snow over the Highlands. Temperatures at 6-7C nationwide.

Monday 22/01/2024
Heavy rain and strong winds to start with, but becoming drier and bright later as high pressure pushes east. Temperatures at 5C in north, 7C in south.
