Mostly settled with a fair amount of cloud, some fog and mist in places with average to cool temperatures
The week is generally quiet with high-pressure south or east of the country. Mist and fog will occur on many days, especially through England and Wales. Some cloud and outbreaks of drizzle affecting northern and western posts and hills temperature generally close to average but cool where fog and mist, Linda, this most likely in England and Wales.

Saturday 18/1/25 High pressure continues affecting much of the country on Saturday. A risk of mist and fog patches in England most in the east, slowly lifting to leave broken cloud. Some sunny spells possible, best in northern and eastern England. More cloud in western Scotland, Ireland and perhaps west Wales with a few spots of drizzle here. Windy western Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 7C England and Wales, 10C in Scotland.
Sunday 19/1/25 A weakening front draped across Ireland pushes east, bringing drizzle to western coastal areas, more persistent rain for the far west of Scotland. Some drizzle patches likely to reach inland as well, particularly in Scotland and north England. More fog and mist possible in central and eastern England. Highs at 6C east England, 7 to 8C most elsewhere, up to 11C in Ireland.
Monday 20/1/25 A south-westerly breeze in the north brings showery rain to western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Pressure stays high to the south with rather cloudy skies persisting. Remnants of a front may produce light drizzle in some southern areas. Brighter or sunny spells in the northeast. Highs 6 to 8C.
Tuesday 21/1/25 Light drizzle coming and going on western facing coasts, more frequent in Scotland. Quite cloudy in most places, some brighter spells east. Rather murky too with some fog in the east. Southern areas mostly dry with calmer winds. Highs of 9C south, 6C north.
Wednesday 22/1/25 A slack pressure flow across the country on Wednesday. Plenty of mist and Merc around with some fog patches in places, these slow to clear through the day. Rather drizzly in Scotland with some patchy rain in places. Highs at 6 to 8C.
Thursday 23/1/25 High-pressure to the east on Thursday with a steadily increasing Southeast degrees. Still plenty of cloud around some outbreaks of drizzle in the east. Staying rather cloudy for most through the day. Highs at 6 to 9C.
