Pleasantly warm in south

High pressure develops to the east of Britain and will act as a block, keeping fronts from moving eastward. Expect mostly dry conditions with plenty of sunshine. Some rain to affect the north west at times. Temperatures will be above normal across England and Wales with cooler conditions across Scotland.

More cloudy in the north and west today. An area of rain across Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England and Wales becomes light in the afternoon. Dry with sunny spells across the Midlands and eastern England. Expect high temperatures of 12 to 18C.

Wednesday 05/10/16
Windy in the north and the west. A dry day across all parts with lots of sunshine and feeling pleasantly warm with above normal temperatures. It continues dry for the evening and night. Highs of 15 to 19C.

Rain is expected across northwest Scotland. High pressure keeps the rest of the country dry and mostly sunny. A few fog patches in the south soon clear. Temperatures down to normal values today. Highs of 14 to 17C.

Outbreaks of rain to affect north west Scotland and Northern Ireland. Again the bulk of Britain continues fine, dry and sunny with morning fog patches dispersing. Chilly in the north - mild in the south with temperatures above normal. Highs of 14 to 18C.

With high pressure dominating, we expect little overall change in the weather pattern today. A front may be stalled in the north west where there is a risk of rain. Most places though will be dry and sunny with morning fog patches clearing. Highs of 14 to 19C.

A misty, dull start with a risk of locally dense fog patches across England and Wales. These will slowly disperse to sunny spells. An area of rain lingers across the north west of Scotland. Expect highs of 14 to 19C.
