Staying unsettled, some heavy rain at times and turning colder

The week is going to be continuing unsettled with some heavy periods of rain. However, a few brighter days too. Turning colder form the north as the week progresses, with a really cold feel to conditions on Thursday in northern areas and then for all on Friday. Perhaps drier at the weekend in England, Wales and Ireland but some rain in Scotland.

Thursday 26/9/24
Low pressure bringing rain to much of central and northern England today. The rain could be heavy in places. Perhaps drier in the far south of England, although a heavy showers is possible. Showers too in Ireland and the north of Scotland, although cold and brighter in central and southern Scotland. The north of Wales is likely to be wet too, although the far south may be drier. Highs at 10 to 16C and feeling cool for many.

Friday 27/9/24
A colder day ahead as a northerly wind becomes established. There will be showers in East Anglia and southern England. A few showers in northern and eastern Scotland too. Drier for most other areas with sunny spells and just scattered showers on coasts. Feeling cold in the wind. Highs at 8 to 13C.


 

Saturday 28/9/24
A ridge of high pressure building over England, Wales and Ireland. Fair with sunny spells in these areas. Cloudier with some rain in Scotland as fronts pass through. Temperatures at 7 to 14C.



 
 
 

Sunday 29/9/24
Low pressure depending to the southwest of Ireland on Sunday bringing gales and heavy rain to Ireland and southwest England. The chance of some rain across northern Scotland. Elsewhere dry with sunny spells, but cloud increasing in the west. Highs at 11 to 14C.


 

Monday 30/9/24
Low pressure dominates the situation on Monday. Strong winds and heavy rain may affect much of the country. Brighter and drier in Scotland. Highs at 12 to 15C.

Tuesday 1/10/24
Brighter and drier on Tuesday as a ridge of higher pressure builds. The ris of some cloud and rain in northwest Scotland. Highs at 11 to 16C.
