Rain & showers
Windy at times

Issued: 0930 Thursday 12th November 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Rather mixed to unsettled at times during the upcoming days. Temperatures too will vary from day to day.

Mixed to unsettled conditions are forecast through the end of the week and over the weekend at least, with rain and showers as well as brisk winds at times. Transient ridges of higher pressure come about across more southern areas at times next week, allowing for drier days, but northern and western areas stay largely mixed to unsettled. Temperatures vary from day to day but not looking too cold.

Sunday/11/20
Morning rain in the southeast, clearing quickly. Brighter and cooler weather follows from the west bringing some sunny spells. Showers affecting western coasts and hills, these heavy and merging into longer spells of rain across northern England and Scotland. A windy day with potential gales affecting western areas. Highs at 8 to 11C.

Monday 16/11/20
A ridge of high pressure building over the UK on Monday. This brings rather cloudy conditions and it is likely to be misty and murky in many areas too. Drizzle in the west but this turning into heavier spells of rain across southwest and west Scotland as well as Northern Ireland through the afternoon. Highs at 9 to 13C.

Tuesday 17/11/20
A ridge of high pressure remains in England and Wales. Plenty of cloud, but this breaks to leave some bright or sunny spells. Cloud and rain in Ireland and west Scotland, this drifting into northwest England and Wales. The rain could be heavy in the west. A mild day with max temperatures between 11 and 15C.

Wednesday 18/11/20
Outbreaks of showery rain passing eastwards. Brighter weather and sunny spells developing behind. Staying rather cloudy with showery rain in the far north and over the Northern Isles. A cooler day with highs between 7 and 11C.

Thursday 19/11/20
Low confidence in the forecast for Thursday as two leading models suggest different weather set ups. Currently, the most favourable scenario is that southern areas could be mainly dry but northern and northwestern areas seeing rain push in. Highs at 9 to 13C.

Friday 20/11/20
Currently looking largely dry across England and Wales with some sunshine with more in the way of cloud and some rain in the north and west. Highs at 9 to 12C.
