Turning very unsettled, cool in the north.

An area of low pressure west of the British Isles will push several frontal systems our way, brining periods of rain punctuated by showers and sunny spells. Some western areas, particularly north, will see only a few brief drier periods.

Tuesday 2/6/26
A rather cloudy start with a few showers, becoming more widespread through the morning and afternoon. Some showers may turn heavy and thundery afternoon before gradually easing during the evening; the heaviest showers are likely to stay in eastern areas. More sun will break out later in the day, and wind strengthens across Ireland and southwest Britain. Highs of 16 to 18C for most areas, slightly milder east England.

Wednesday 3/6/2026
During Wednesday morning, strong winds and an area of heavy rain will arrive from the west, having passed over Ireland overnight. Several hours of heavy showery rain will reach most areas, the rain most persistent in the northwest. Scattered showers and sun spells follow later in the day, staying very windy south. Highs at a cool 15C west Scotland, 16 to 18C for most, to 20C East Anglia.

Staying showery and windy on Thursday, risk of gales across western parts of Ireland, England, and Wales. Best sun spells in the east before showers more widespread afternoon. Northwest areas seeing more persistent rain that will be often heavy. Highs at a cool 13C west Scotland and Ireland, to 18C southeast England.


 

Friday 5/6/2026
Further showers in the northwest of Friday, a brighter start in the east. Rain arrives from the southwest and pushes into Ireland and central Britain, some strong wind coming along with it, particularly southwest coasts. Highs of 16 to 18C across most parts of the country, to 20C far southeast.


 

Saturday 6/6/26
Blustery showers in northwest parts of England and Ireland as well as west Scotland for much of the day. Drier and brighter to the south and east, though some showers will reach further east during afternoon. Temperatures reaching 14C in the north and 18C in the south.

Sunday 7/6/26
Sunday is dry for England and Wales with increasing sunshine. A band of rain affects western Ireland and Scotland most of the day, this tending to break up for sun spells later. Highs at 16 northwest to 21C southeast.
