Unsettled with rain and showers, then turning colder and showery later in the week with more sunshine

A mixed week ahead with rain and showers at times. There will be some fair days though. From mid-week conditions may become more unsettled and windier. Temperatures are likely to be cool at first but then turning a little milder.

Tuesday 27/2/24
A cold front brings some showery outbreaks of rain to Scotland, Ireland and northern England, reaching west Wales in the afternoon on Tuesday. Many central, eastern and southern areas will be dry with some sunny spells although a morning frost and a few mist patches here. Turning brighter in northern and western Scotland as well as western Ireland later, a few showers on western coasts here. Highs at 7 to 9C.

Wednesday 28/2/24
A ridge of high pressure builds on Wednesday. This allows for a frosty morning and some early mist and fog patches. These lifting to leave a fair day with good spells of sunshine. However, cloud increasing in the west later with some rain in western Ireland. Highs at 8 to 10C.


 

Thursday 29/2/24
A deep area of low pressure develops northwest of Scotland on Thursday. Fronts push eastwards bringing some heavy bursts of showery rain. Most of the rain will be in the west. Becoming breezy too. Highs near 8 to 11C then turning colder from the west later.


 

Friday 1/3/24
Low pressure remains on Friday. This brings more rain and showers, although some areas will be drier and brighter. Highs at 7 to 9C.



 
 
 

Saturday 2/3/24
The low pressure stays close by through Saturday. A day of showers, some heavy in the north and west. Drier east. Highs 6 to 9C.

Sunday 3/3/24
Showers in Scotland on Sunday. Fair for other areas with some sunny spells developing. A few showers could afect western coasts and hills at any time. Highs at 6 to 10C.
