Mixed with rain and showers, turning colder and more showery by the weekend
A mixed week ahead once again. Low pressure bringing showers and some rain, although probably less wet days than recently. Overall it is mild although a change to colder, showery conditions is expected by the weekend.

Tuesday 19/3/24 Some showery rain over eastern areas of England and Scotland, it first on Tuesday, but he's clearing quickly apart from in the far south east. Most areas are then dry and bright with good spells of sunshine. Scattered showers in Northwest Scotland and more persistent rain affecting Shetland and Orkney. Increasing cloud, four southern Ireland, southern Wales and southern England in the afternoon with a risk of more rain in the southwest by late afternoon and evening. Highs at 8 to 10C in the north and west, 15C in the east.
Wednesday 20/3/24 Low-pressure dominates across England, Wales and Scotland on Wednesday bringing rain. The rain heaviest most persistent across southern and eastern Scotland, as well as northern and western England and Wales. Probably drier for Northwest Scotland and Ireland. Highs at 16C in the southeast, mainly 7 to 10C.
Thursday 21/3/24 A front brings some rain into northern western Scotland, together with the west of England and Wales through Thursday. Rain should fade from the east to leave the day, mainly dry and bright in central and eastern areas. Brighter conditions following to Ireland with a few showers in the west. Tops at 11 to 14C.
Friday 22/3/24 Low pressure to the north of Scotland on Friday. The breezy day with a mix of sunny spells and showers. Most of the showers in northern and western areas, some of them turning wintry over the hills of Scotland. Severe gales in Scotland and Ireland. Highs at 5 to 11C.
Saturday 23/3/24 A cooler north-westerly flow affecting the country on Saturday. Sunny spells and showers again, some of them heavy, especially in the north and east. The showers, maybe wintry over the hills of northern Wales, northern England and Scotland. Fewest of the showers in the south. Highs at 5 to 9C.
Sunday 24/3/24 A weak ridge of high-pressure building across Ireland and the western UK on Sunday. Still some showers in the east, but dry and bright for most. Tops at 5 to 10C.
