Less unsettled but staying mixed
Feeling cooler over the next few days with cold starts, then a midler south-westerly wind flow moves in next week pulling temperatures back up again. Mixed weather generally with some wet and windy days still expected through the forecast period.

Sunday 24/9/23 Low pressure west of Scotland with a strong southwest wind affecting all areas. There will be plenty of cloud and outbreaks of rain, at times heavy, across the north and west areas. Drier with sunny spells across central and southern England. Warmer here too with highs around 20 to 22C, cooler further north and west.
Monday 25/9/23 The southwest flow remains on Monday. A largely dry and reasonably fine day though expect showers in the far west and longer spells of rain across the Western Isles. Highs at 23C in central and eastern England, 14C in northern Scotland.
Tuesday 26/9/23 Higher pressure builds to the south and east bringing a fair day here. It will be warm in the sunshine too. More cloud in Scotland with some patchy rain northwest. Rain moving in across Ireland and Northern Ireland later. Highs around 16C to 23C.
Wednesday 27/9/23 A windy day on Wednesday as a deep area of low pressure pushes over Ireland. Cloud will gradually thicken from the west with outbreaks of rain moving from west to east. Highs at 17 to 22C.
Thursday 28/9/23 A dry day centrally and further east on Thursday. Outbreaks of rain expected in the west where winds will be blustery. Highs at 17 to 22C.
Friday 29/9/23 A ridge of higher pressure builds in on Friday allowing for most to stay dry and fair with good sunny spells. Cannot rule out a few scattered showers in western areas. Highs at 17 to 22C.
