Mixed weather first then rain, wind and cooler temps for the end of the week
A mixed weekend then a reasonably calm start to next week before conditions turn unsettled widely with wet, windy and cooler weather moving in as a northerly wind gets dragged in for the end of the week into the weekend.

An easterly wind over southern parts of the country on Monday with low pressure to the south. There could be cloud and some spots of rain and drizzle in southern and eastern areas. Drier and brighter elsewhere, although cloud is expected to thicken from the northwest with some patchy rain across western Scotland. Highs at 17 to 21C.
A weak ridge of high pressure builds on Tuesday. After a cool start for many it will be a mostly dry day, best of the sunshine towards the north and west later on. A strengthening wind in the north too. Highs at 16 to 21C.
Wednesday may become more unsettled and windy as low pressure crosses the UK. This is going to be bringing rain into Scotland, Ireland and northern England before pushing south into Wales and northern England later. Drier in the south and southeast. Highs at 14 to 22C although cooler still across northwest Scotland.
Low pressure pushes in closer towards the west of Scotland on Thursday. A windy day with a band of rain pushing southeastwards across the country, heavy for a time in places. Behind the rain expect sunny spells but also blustery showers. Chiller for all too. Highs at 12 to 19C.
Low pressure pushes into the North Sea on Friday dragging a northerly wind down the country. It will be windy and feel chilly. Rain expected in the east for a time before clearing. Sunny spells and showers elsewhere, heavy and frequent in the north. Highs at cooler 12 to 16C.
Low pressure stays to the eats of the UK while high pressure builds in across the west from the Atlantic. A cool north to northwesterly flow continues. Frequent showers or longer spells of rain in the east, particularly northeast of the country, drier and brighter elsewhere. Highs at 12 to 16C.
