A mixed and increasingly muggy week with rain and showers at times
A mixed week of weather across the UK and Ireland but one that will become increasingly muggy. There will be some rain and showers at times and some of the showers could be heavy and thundery. Temperatures will be increasing and may become very warm or even hot in some places.

Low pressure to the south of Ireland on Saturday affecting much of the country. It is going to be another mixed day for most. Rain affects Northern Ireland, northern England, Wales and the Midlands as well as eastern England. Heavy and thundery showers in southwest England and perhaps southern Ireland. Misty and murky for many. Further rain and mist in southern Scotland, but drier for central and northern Scotland. Misty over eastern coasts. A very warm day, muggy too with highs of 21 to 25C, nearer 18C on the mistier east coast.
The area of low pressure remains over Ireland on Sunday. It will be a muggy day for all with some sunny spells. However, heavy showers are likely to develop over Ireland, Wales and Southwest England. A few showers affecting northern England and Scotland to. Misty again over eastern coast of Scotland and north-east England. Highs at 19 to 26C.
A ridge of high pressure builds on Monday, bringing a drier day through England, Wales and much of Scotland. Showers in western Scotland and Ireland, most in the west. Temperatures reaching 16C in western Scotland, 21 to 26C in the rest of England and Wales.
Low pressure may bring some cloud and some spots of showery rain to northern and western Scotland as well as Ireland on Tuesday. Some cloud affecting western England and Wales too. Generally drier and brighter in the east though. Highs at 18 to 24C for most.
The threat of some thundery rain returning to more southern and eastern areas on Wednesday as low pressure passes close by. Rather misty too. Drier in the north and west, some bright spells here. Highs at a muggy 17 to 24C.
A ridge of high pressure may bring a brighter and drier day for Thursday. Good spells of sunshine for most, although a risk of some showers in the east. Highs at 19 to 23C.
