Becoming milder at the weekend after a chilly start
A hit of colder weather to come over the next few days. The end of the week looks particularly chilly with a slip into gradually more unsettled conditions too. The weekend is set to be milder but with some rain in the north and west. Eastern and southern areas tending to become brighter and drier with sunny spells, although a few showers can't be ruled out.

Friday 14/10/16 Lower pressure to the south of Ireland on Friday. Higher pressure remains to the north. An easterly flow will be bringing a fair amount of cloud through most of the country. Outbreaks of rain to the south and east, with plenty of cloud around for most. A few showers could affect western areas and it is going to be feeling cold for all places too. Highs at 10 to 13C.
Saturday 15/10/16 Low pressure stays south of Ireland on Saturday. Rain may become more persistent Ireland.Drier for much of England and Wales, although outbreaks of showers rain affecting parts of Scotland. Staying chilly in northern areas at 11C, but turning a little milder to the south at 16C.
Sunday 16/10/16 Low pressure over Ireland on Sunday. A southeast flow will be bringing less chilly weather to all parts of the UK and Ireland. Cloud and outbreaks of rain in the west and through Scotland, but tending to be drier in more eastern areas. Tops near 13 to 17C.
Monday 17/10/16 Low pressure to the west of Scotland and Ireland on Monday. A trough in the west gives some cloud and outbreaks of showery rain here. Drier to the east and south with some brighter spells. Highs near 13 to 17C.
Tuesday 18/10/16 A complex area of low pressure will be to the north of Scotland on Tuesday. This is going to be bringing rain and cloud eastwards through the UK and Ireland, whilst more southern areas will be dry with sunny spells. Highs will be around 11 to 16C.
Wednesday 19/10/16 Low pressure stays north of Scotland on Wednesday. A front clearing eastern England will be taking some showers and rain with it, whilst sunny spells and drier weather follow from the west. Heavy showers affect western Scotland and western Ireland too. Highs at 10 to 16C.
