High pressure has finally built across our part of the world, and is here to stay during the week ahead, with dry conditions prevailing for most places. Temperatures will lift as the wind turns slowly round to the southeast, with some pleasant spring days, but also cold nights where skies stay clear.

High pressure located east of Britain maintains generally dry conditions across the country. A southeasterly breeze affects the south, whilst a strengthening southwesterly affects the north & northwest. Fronts passing to the north & west of Scotland bring thicker cloud and patchy rain to the far northwest. Otherwise, after a chilly start, it's a dry and bright day with sunny spells. Highs 8 to 13C.
Fronts to the northwest may make further inroads into northwest Scotland, again with cloud and outbreaks of rain here, which may be persistent for the Western Isles and northwest Highlands. Southwesterly winds in the north, mild south to southeasterlies in southern Britain. Dry overall for most places, with broken cloud and sun. Starting with frost, particularly rurally. Highs 10 to 15C.
A familiar situation with high pressure in overall control, whilst a weakening front lies to the northwest. Cloud and patchy rain for parts of Scotland. Otherwise dry with variable cloud and sunshine. A frosty start, but a mild spring day with light winds. Highs 10 to 15C.
Uncertainty surrounds what is left of a weak front over northern areas. This should be no more than an area of cloud and patchy rain. Most places dry. Chance of a cooler easterly wind developing in the south with local showers near the English Channel coast. Another cool start, then highs 10 to 14C.
Precise detail uncertain as pressure becomes slack. Variable cloud, perhaps filling in with cloud more widely, which will tend to suppress daytime temperatures, but may result in a less cold night. Highs 9 to 13C.
A similar slack situation with precise detail uncertain. Many places dry. Local patchy rain or drizzle possible. Fairly cloudy. Highs 9 to 13C.
