Waves of cold spells and rain, several overnight frosts possible, stormy later

Changing pressure throughout the week will alternate cold and sunny spells with showery spells. Deeper areas of low pressure arrive later in the week driving stronger winds and moderate rains into the weekend, always pushing east to west.

Wednesday 4/12/24
Rain overnight, clearing east through Wednesday morning. Patchy sun throughout the day in most areas. Turning windy and wet in Ireland later as a deep area of low pressure arrives. Strong winds in the west later, gale force in the north. Highs at 6 to 8C in the south, 3C in the north.
 

Thursday 5/12/24
Low pressure crosses northern Scotland bringing rain and strong winds. Drizzly in central England southward but staying cloudy, damp, and windy for most. Highs at 11C in much of England, 8 to 9C further north.

 
 
 

Friday 6/12/24
A ridge of high pressure builds temporarily through Friday allowing frost and some morning fog patches to form. Some sun may break through in the morning. Rain and gales arriving in Ireland and southwest England and Wales in the afternoon, some rains heavy overnight. Highs at 9C in the south, 6C in the north.
 

Saturday 7/12/24
Wet and windy weather crossing England, Wales and Ireland as a deep area of low pressure passes eastward across the country. Once, past, colder and brighter weather arriving from the north with some wintry showers on hills. Warmer temperatures in southern England in the morning, 8 to 9C, elsewhere cool at 3 to 4C.

High pressure building over Ireland on Sunday. Northerly winds bringing cold air and widespread frost. Wintry showers in the north and east along the coast. Drier and sunnier in western areas. Highs at 3 to 7C

Monday 9/12/24
High pressure west of the British Isles maintains relatively settled conditions. Drizzle in the east, patchy sun in the west and south with a breeze in most places. Highs at 4 to 6C.
