Breezy and mostly mild, most rain in northwest Scotland but drier in the east
A breezy few days ahead with higher pressure to the south and low pressure to the north. A brisk southwest wind for much of the week bringing some rain to northwest Scotland and patchy drizzle at times to western coasts. Tending to be drier in the east. Mild on most days.

A mild day with strong south-westerly winds affecting all areas. There will be some drizzle over western coasts of Wales and southwest England. Dry in central and eastern areas. Heavy rain in central and western Scotland, this rain affecting Northern Ireland and northwest Ireland too. Gales in northern and western Scotland. Highs at 11 to 14C.
Some rain affecting southern and central England, Ireland and southern Wales on Wednesday. Northern England and much of Northern Ireland should be dry and bright too. Rain, sleet and snow in northern and western Scotland. Breezy here too. High temperatures at 4 to 11C, mildest in southeast England.
Low pressure arrives from the southwest bringing outbreaks of rain and strong winds. Rain affects much of England, Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Some showery rain reaching southern parts of Scotland. Drier to the north. A breezy day for all. Highs reaching just 3 to 7C for Scotland, 9 to 13C elsewhere.
High pressure to the southwest on Friday. This should bring a fair and mostly dry day with sunny spells for most after early rain over eastern England clears to the southeast. Cloud building from the west later. Highs at 3 to 10C.
Low pressure to the northwest sends a cold front southeastward across the British Isles on Saturday bringing outbreaks of rain to most areas by evening. Brighter and cooler behind this to the west. Highs at 7 to 9C.
Sunday continues cooler with a strong westerly flow. Further outbreaks of rain for the UK and Ireland with this turning to sleet and snow over higher ground to the north. Highs at 5 to 11C.
