Plenty of dry weather, although some rain in northern Scotland at times

High pressure is going to be bringing much dry weather to the UK and Ireland during the course of the week. There will be fronts affecting northern Scotland at times, these bringing some cloud and patchy rain here. Temperatures are likely to be closer to average for most. A hints of some more mixed or unsettled weather later in the week.

Thursday 4/7/19
High pressure remains over Ireland, England and Wales, the high centred west of Ireland. Dry weather with decent spells of sunshine for many areas. The northern half of the UK is going to have increasing cloud and there will be some rain in central and northern Scotland, close to fronts there. Highs at 24C in southern England and 20 to 23C for most in the sunshine. 13C in northern Scotland.


Friday 5/7/19
Lower pressure to the east of Scotland on Friday with high pressure to the west of Ireland. Fronts will be bringing cloud and rain into Scotland, with some showerier bursts of rain in northern England. A few spots of rain may affect central Ireland too.Brighter in southern areas with sunny spells. A breezy day for many too and feeling cool in the wind. Highs at 24C in southern England, 10C in northern Scotland, turning cooler through the day.


Saturday 6/7/19
High pressure stays to the west of Ireland with a ridge extending through the UK. There may be isolated showers in northeast Scotland but for all other areas it should be dry. Good spells of sunshine developing, although some broken cloud in the east. Highs at 22C in the far south, 13 to 18C in other places.
 


Sunday 7/7/19
The ridge of high pressure remains through Sunday. A more north to northwest flow brings a risk of showers in northern and eastern Scotland. Fair for most other areas with good spells of sunshine and dry conditions. Highs at 12C in northern Scotland, 20C in southern parts of England.


Monday 8/7/19
Higher pressure remains west of Ireland, but affecting most of the UK on Monday. Weak fronts bringing some coud and patchy rain and drizzle to northern Scotland. Dry for other areas with sunny spells. Highs at 14 to 21C.

Tuesday 9/7/19
Fronts giving rain and stronger winds to Scotland and Northern Ireland, this perhaps drifting into northwest England too. Drier to the south with good spells of sunshine. Highs at 12 to 19C.
