Lots of dry weather, cool overal although becoming milder later

High pressure is the dominant feature of the weather through the coming week. This is going to be bringing plenty of dry conditions, but there will be some rain around across northern parts of the UK. Temperaures are likely to be cool, although starting to become milder across northern areas early in the new week, with the milder air slipping south later.

Monday 28/11/16
High pressure to the east of England on Monday. A fair amount of cloud is expected over much of the UK and Ireland whilst many areas are likely to be dry. Little change is expected through the day although some drizzle may affect the far west of Ireland. Highs near 3 to 7C.


Tuesday 29/11/16
An area of high pressure over the south of the UK on Tuesday. A risk of widespread frost in central & southern Britain to start the day. A more westerly airflow becomes established across northern Britain. Thickening cloud in the north too. Some patchy rain arriving in the far north-west. Some sunny spells for England & Wales, plus light winds. Cool, 3 to 6C.
 


Wednesday 30/11/16
A freshening westerly breeze is expected to bring rain to north-western Britain, heaviest over western mountains of Scotland. Staying dry in central & southern England & Wales. A cool start, local frost in the Midlands. A cool 5C in the southern UK, milder to the north at 10C.
 


Thursday 1/12/16
A cooler northwesterly flow on Thursday as the high slips south. This brings a mix of sunshine and showers in Scotland, some wintry on the hills here. Further south it is drier with sunny spells, the best of these in the far southwest. Highs near 5C in northern Scotland, 9C in southern England.


Friday 2/12/16
High pressure to the south of the country on Friday. A front brings some rain into western and northern Scotland with a risk of some drizzle in western Ireland too. More southern areas are likely to be brighter with sunny spells breaking through. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Saturday 3/12/16
High oressure over the UK on Saturday. This brings the potential for mist and fog to be widespread. However, this should clear to leave sunny spells and mostly dry conditions. Highs at 4 to 9C.
