A trend towards low pressure and unsettled conditions, some brief settled spells during the transition.

High pressure begins breaking down this weekend, allowing frontal Atlantic systems to return, brining rain, wind, and cooler temperatures. High pressure holds on longest in England, where it may remain hot and dry until at least next week.

Saturday starts sunny in England and Wales under a ridge of high pressure from overnight. In Ireland, pressure begins dropping from overnight, increasingly rainy from the west through the morning. Showery rain fairly widely across Ireland by the afternoon, some showers approaching west Scotland too. Some scattered showers reach Wales and northern England later too. Highs at 28C southeast England, 20C in Ireland, 18C eastern Scotland, to 16C west Scotland.

Sunday 31/5/26
A more westerly flow becoming established on Sunday. Feeling cooler for all. Sunshine and showers, most in northwest England, western Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Drier Wales and England, scattered showers drifting eastward but good sunny spells between. Highs at 17C Scotland to 24C southeast England; most stay near or below 20C.


 

Monday 1/6/26
Fronts bring rain into Ireland on Monday from before dawn, soon passing into Scotland and northern England. Rain reaches into Wales afternoon, and perhaps more widely into England later. Some heavy bursts are likely (least likely in southeast England). Highs at 24C in eastern England, 18C Ireland and Scotland, but 15C in western Scotland.


 

Tuesday 2/6/26
Low pressure is dominant on Tuesday. A mix of sunshine and heavy showers, a risk of showers merging into broader areas of heavy rain in Ireland and Scotland. It could be quite windy as well in places. Highs near a cooler 14 to 21C.



 
 
 

Wednesday 3/6/26
A brief drier, brighter window on Wednesday morning, but soon becoming unsettled again as fronts bring rain to Ireland later heavy in the south. Showery outbreaks in Britain afternoon. Some drizzle in the southwest and generally damp and cloudy. Highs at 13 to 21C.

Thursday 4/6/26
Heavy rain from before dawn on Thursday passes to the northeast. Frequent heavy showers follow in its wake, these nearly persistent in western areas. Best of sunny spells east. Highs at 15 to 20C.
