The south and east of England should stay mostly dry with some sunny spells. A band of rain arrives over northern Scotland later in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will be 5°C in the north and 7°C in the south.
Monday 23/12/2024 Showers will persist along the east coast during the morning, but most areas will be dry with bright spells. However, western parts of Ireland and Scotland will see cloudier conditions with light rain or drizzle, becoming heavier over the Hebrides and Northwest Highlands later in the day. Breezy conditions are expected. Maximum temperatures will be 6°C in the north and 8°C in the south.
Tuesday 24/12/2024 Tuesday will bring a mix of cloud and settled weather, especially across southern parts of Wales and England. Further north and west, thicker cloud will bring light rain or drizzle, becoming more persistent over the Hebrides and northwest Ireland. It will be a breezy day with maximum temperatures of 10-12°C across most areas.
Wednesday 25/12/2024 Christmas Day is expected to be settled, with high pressure dominating southern areas. It will be rather cloudy, though some fog may develop later in the evening mostly over parts of England. The north and west will be breezier, with light rain or drizzle in the northern Highlands and Northern Isles. It will be another mild day, with maximum temperatures of 10-12°C in most regions.
Thursday 26/12/2024 Boxing Day will be fairly settled but cloudy across most areas. Morning fog is possible, especially in England. The brightest conditions will likely be in northeastern Scotland, while light drizzle may occur in far western parts of Ireland. Maximum temperatures will range from 8-10°C.
Friday 27/12/2024 High pressure will persist, bringing settled but cloudy conditions to most areas. Parts of England may experience persistent fog in the morning, while the Northern Isles might see thick cloud and light rain. Maximum temperatures will be 8-10°C.
