Gusty winds at times

Overall much of this week will be unsettled as low pressure dominates and frontal systems come in from the west. The rain will be heavy at times with a further risk of flooding in the northwest and Wales. After a chilly start, temperatures will generally become mild to very mild with the coldest temperatures across Scotland.

Tuesday 15/12/15
Milder and rather wet with further outbreaks of rain, heavy in places. Heavy and persistent rain may persist overnight with the potential for further flooding across Wales and north west England. Expect maximum temperatures of 7 to 12C.

Wednesday 16/12/15
Staying mild on Wednesday. An area of heavy rain clears England and Wales leaving patchy rain and drizzle Heavy rain to come across Scotland. Outbreaks of rain come across western parts of the United Kingdom during the night. Expect highs of 8 to 13C.

 
 
 

Thursday 17/12/15
Unseasonably mild temperatures are expected on Thursday. Rain in the north and west, some it heavy, tracks eastward in the afternoon as it clears from the west leaving a few coastal showers. Expect maximum temperatures of 12 to 15C.

 
 
 

Friday 18/12/15
It continues mild but temperatures down a few degrees. A ridge of high pressure should give the country a largely fair and dry day albeit rather cloudy. We may see rain coming in across all but eastern England in the night. Expect maximum temperatures of 9 to 13C.
 

Saturday 19/12/15
It appears cloudy, unsettled and quite mild again with outbreaks of rain that may be heavy across Scotland. Somewhat drier across England and Wales for the afternoon. Expect maximum temperatures of 9 to 11C.

Sunday 20/12/15
A windy day with gales in the west. Outbreaks of rain in the west spreads into eastern areas, low confidence. Expect maximum temperatures of 7 to 11C.
