Turning fresher with rain in northern and western areas, drier to the south

Warm weather will be easing on Thursday with fresher weather arriving for all by Friday. It is going to be staying mostly dry and fair across southern and eastern parts of the country through the weekend and into next week. Rain in more northern and western areas. Just some early stage hints of cooler weather and more unsettled conditions at the end of next week.

Saturday 17/9/16
A ridge of high pressure is maintained through Saturday. This brings more fair weather to most with some reasonable spells of sunshine. Morning mist may take some time to clear England and Wales, but once it has the day should be largely fair. Cloud and rain may affect western Scotland and western Scotland with the winds increasing here. Highs at 15 to 20C.


Sunday 18/9/16
A ridge of high pressure builds eastwards through the UK on Sunday giving a fair day over eastern areas with good spells of sunshine. Lower pressure to the west with fronts pushing east into western Wales and northwest England as well as southern Scotland in the afternoon and evening giving rain. Brighter in the rest of Scotland and Ireland Scotland with a mix of sunshine and showers. Highs at 15 to 22C.


Monday 19/9/16
Lower pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Monday. A weak front may bring some patchy rain into northern and western areas. Drier and brighter in the east and south although a weak front may allow for some residual cloud and rain in the far southeast of England. Highs at 16 to 23C.
 


Tuesday 20/9/16
A ridge of high pressure builds over England and Wales on Tuesday. This brings fair weather to most. Breezier in Scotland where fronts will be bringing rain to northern and western coasts and hills. Staying breezy and damp in northern and western Ireland with drizzle at times. Tops at 15 to 21C.


Wednesday 21/9/16
The southwest flow persists on Wednesday. This brings mostly fair weather to southern and eastern areas. Rain affects western Ireland and western Scotland with broken cloud on western coasts and hills. Highs at 16 to 23C.

Thursday 22/9/16
Low pressure west of Scotland on Thursday with a southwest flow affecting many. It may be that conditions become cooler and more unsettled with sunshine and showers, heaviest in Scotland and Ireland. Tops at 14 to 18C.
