A mixed week ahead with frequent showers and outbreaks of rain at times
Conditions become rather more unsettled as we go into the next working week. There will be frequent showers and outbreaks of rain at times as lower pressure affects the British Isles. Early indications are that higher pressure will briefly build once more by next weekend.

Outbreaks of showers and rain for much of Ireland and the UK as low pressure is located to the west of Ireland. Most of the rain will be showery though it may be rather heavy at times for western parts of the UK. Cloud and rain clearing from the west later to leave a mostly dry and bright evening here. High temperatures generally ranging from 15 to 21C, cooler for northeast Scotland at just 13 or 14C. Warmer in southern England at 22 to 24C.
Pressure stays low on Thursday with frequent outbreaks of showery rain, some of it heavy, particularly for eastern parts of Ireland, England and Scotland. Most areas seeing a rather overcast morning. Drier and brighter for southern Ireland and the southwest UK where there should be some good sunny spells at times. Brightening across the south between the showers through the afternoon. Highs at 17 to 22C. Cooler in the north of Scotland.
There will be frequent showers and outbreaks of rain across Ireland and the UK on Friday before high pressure builds in from the west once more. Showers will be heaviest for eastern parts of the UK and will clear from the west through the afternoon and evening leaving a brighter and dry end to the day for Ireland, Wales, western Scotland and western parts of England. High temperatures widely at 19 to 23C, cooler in northwest Scotland.
A brighter day on Saturday as high pressure continuing to build over the UK and Ireland. Occasional showers may affect western and southern parts of the UK but these should be light. A brighter and drier day for many. High temperatures at 15 to 23C.
High pressure stays over the British Isles on Sunday. A mostly dry day with the best of the brightness to the east. Occasional showers over northern England, southern Scotland and Wales. High temperatures at 19 to 23C, cooler on eastern coasts at 15 to 17C.
Low pressure to the west brings a more mixed day on Monday with showers and outbreaks of rain for some. Showers most frequent for Ireland, northern England and western Scotland. High temperatures ranging from 16 to 23C.
