Sunny spells, warmest in southeast England

Tuesday 21/07/20
High pressure extends across southern areas, with dry and pleasantly warm conditions for England, Wales and much of Ireland. Sunny spells and well broken cloud here with light winds and coastal sea breezes. Cloudier for Scotland and Northern Ireland with a risk of a little rain or drizzle for western coasts. Local showers may form in eastern Scotland by afternoon. Highs at 16 to 21C, warmest southeast.

Wednesday 22/07/20
A weak front spreads cloud and outbreaks of rain through Scotland, mostly affecting the northwest. Elsewhere it should be dry with increasing cloud, but some bright or sunny spells too. The best of the sunshine in the south. A increasing risk of some drizzle over the western and southern coasts of Ireland. Warm for many with highs at 24C in southern England, 14C in northern Scotland.

Thursday 23/07/20
Drizzle in northern and western Scotland as well as western Ireland. A few spots of drizzle affecting the hills of northern England and Wales too. Dry across the rest of England, Wales, eastern Ireland and eastern Scotland, away from the mistier western coasts. Plenty of cloud for all. Highs at a muggy 17 to 24C.

Friday 24/07/20
Friday sees a slack pressure gradient across the British Isles. A mixed day is expected with spells of sunshine, variable amounts of cloud and a scattering of showers. Showers that develop are likely to be slow moving due to light winds. Highs at 23C in southeast England, 15 or 16C in western Scotland.

Saturday 25/07/20
Fairly unsettled with areas of rain or showers spreading eastward across the British Isles, some heavy and frequent rain in places. Some drier and brighter spells following from the west. Highs at 14 to 24C.

Sunday 26/07/20
Sunday looks to stay unsettled with rain lingering over eastern parts of the UK while showers follow to the west and for Ireland. Some spells of sunshine develop between the showers with highs of 14 to 21C.
