A weak cold front passes south through the UK on Sunday, bringing outbreaks of rain to southern Scotland initially. Starting mainly dry with some sunny spells across much of England and Wales, before rain affects these areas as the day progresses. Largely dry across Scotland as high pressure builds in here although with the risk of a few scattered showers in the far north. Patchy, mostly light, rain in the west of Ireland initially will migrate to the east through the day. Highs at 13C in northern Scotland, 20C in southern England.
A ridge of high pressure through Ireland, England and Wales giving dry weather here with good spells of sunshine. Cloud in northern and western Ireland as well as Scotland where there will be rain to the north and west. Strengthening winds across northern Scotland too. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland, 21C in southern England.
A front across Scotland, northern England, Northern Ireland and northern parts of Ireland bringing some outbreaks of rain here. Fair to the south with good spells of sunshine. Becoming brighter in northern Scotland with some sunny spells through the day. Windy in the north too. Highs at 22C in southern England, 16C in northern Scotland.
The weak ridge of high pressure remains in Ireland, Wales and southern England bringing mostly dry weather here. Rain at first over northern Scotland will then become showery with sunny spells developing. Sunny spells and showers across the rest of Scotland as well as northern England and Northern Ireland. Warm in the far south of England with highs at 23C. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland.
Currently, it looks like high pressure will be the dominating weather feature across much of the UK allowing for mainly dry conditions. However, with low pressure to the north of Scotland expect rain for the Northern Isles and some showers across western Scotland and brisk westerly winds here. Highs at 22C in the southeast of England and 16C further north.
On Friday, models are suggesting a break down in the high pressure as low pressure brings outbreaks of rain to initially Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland before pushing southeastwards through the day. A windy day for all. Highs ranging from 21C in the south and 15C further north.
