A largely dry week ahead and becoming very warm before thundery outbreaks of rain break down the heat.

Low pressure over the North Sea gradually moves east allowing higher pressure to build bringing some drier and warmer days ahead, mostly to the south and east. Thundery outbreaks of rain for the end of the week and into the weekend breaking down the heat. Trough returning over the UK from Sunday.

Thursday 30/07/20
High pressure slides eastwards but still influences dry, sunny and very warm temperatures through Thursday across much of the country. An Atlantic low pressure brings cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain to Ireland and Northern Ireland before clearing and affecting western and northern Scotland during the day. Southerly winds will also strengthen here. Highs at warm 18 to 25C.


Friday 31/07/20
Low pressure to the west and high pressure to the east brings a warm and humid southerly flow to the UK and Ireland. A weak cold front will sweep light, patchy rain across Ireland, Northern Ireland and into western and central Scotland otherwise its a dry day and feeling very warm or hot with the best of the sunshine in the south and east. Heavy, thundery showers are likely to develop across southern English counties and push eastward into southeast England through the late afternoon and evening. Highs of 21 to 30C.


Saturday 01/08/20
Saturday will start off wet across the east with outbreaks of rain, some of these heavy and thundery. Elsewhere, largely dry to to start with sunny spells although cloud will thicken in the west as showery rain, mainly light, moves into Ireland and Northern Ireland later. Sunshine and showers developing across England, Scotland and Wales in the afternoon although more persistent rainfall could linger over northeastern parts of Scotland throughout the day. Temperatures cool off in the north with highs around 18C while staying very warm in the south at 27C.


Sunday 02/08/20
With low pressure to the east of Scotland on Sunday it will be a mixed day with sunny spells but also some showers, these mainly in the east. A ridge does build in from the west allowing for conditions to gradually dry up here, however it is followed quickly by an Atlantic low pressure bringing cloud and rain to western and southern Ireland later. With a more northwesterly flow moving in temperatures will become all round cooler at 17C to 23C.

Monday 03/08/20
Low pressure will continue to track eastwards and push rain into Wales and England. Ireland and Northern Ireland seeing showers but also some sunny spells and feel somewhat muggy. Mainland Scotland currently looks to see the best of the sunny spells but also with some showers developing, while the Northern Isles will be affected by cloud and patchy rain. Highs range from 16 to 21C.

Tuesday 04/08/20
The UK looks to stay within a trough on Tuesday bringing outbreaks of rain but also some sunny spells developing. Staying cooler with highs around 16C in the north and 21C further south.
