Dry and bright for many to start, changing again from mid-week
Conditions improve into the new week as high pressure builds back in across the British Isles. From mid-week pressure looks set to lower again with outbreaks of rain and showers, often thundery, spreading across the country. Temperatures cool for the time of year.

Pressure is expected to lower across Great Britain on Wednesday following the passage of a rain-bearing front across the country overnight. Outbreaks of rain affect southern areas while frequent heavy and often thundery showers follow from the north. A drier day for Ireland and Northern Ireland. Winds pick up the west and north later. Highs at 13 to 19C, warmest for southwestern Ireland.
High pressure looks to be focused across northern Britain with low pressure to the south which leads to an easterly wind strengthening across the country. Outbreaks of rain, often heavy, affect southern England and Wales while isolated showers develop over Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some spells of sunshine here too. High temperatures from 14 to 20C, warmest to the west.
Pressure is likely to remain high to the northwest of Britain with lower pressure to the southeast. Heavy showers, often thundery, and outbreaks of rain affect parts of England, Wales and eastern Ireland while conditions are drier and brighter for Scotland, Northern Ireland and western Ireland. High temperatures at 15 to 21C.
An easterly wind is likely to prevail with low pressure to the south. This sends bands of heavy, thundery showers northward over the UK and Ireland. Staying dry to the northwest. Breezy for all. High temperatures from 13 to 21C.
Pressure may stay low to the southwest on Sunday with outbreaks of rain spreading across southern areas. These locally heavy and thundery. Staying dry and bright to the northwest. Highs at 14 to 19C.
Monday could see low pressure pass northwestward across the British Isles taking heavy showers and outbreaks of rain. High pressure may build from the southeast bringing dry and bright conditions. Highs at 13 to 19C.
