A mixed start then drier for a few days before rain returns

Starting mixed through the early part of this week with periods of rain and cold conditions. Turning milder as the week progresses and drier for most for a few days too. Some brighter skies developing. Becoming more unsettled later in the week and into the weekend.

Tuesday 12/3/24
A warm front crosses Ireland and Scotland on Tuesday. A cloudy and damp day for Ireland, western Scotland and much of western England and Wales where low cloud, mist and fog affects coasts and hills. Probably drier in more eastern and southern areas, a few brighter spells to the southeast too. Breezier for Ireland and western Scotland and milder too. Highs at 8 to 11C for most but 14C in southwest England and Ireland.

Wednesday 13/3/24
High pressure to the east on Wednesday, low pressure to the west. Lots of cloud for most places, especially in the west. Patchy rain and drizzle in western and southern Ireland, more persistent rain for western Scotland. Some brighter spells in eastern England. Highs at a milder 10 to 14C.


 

Thursday 14/3/24
High pressure remains in the east, low pressure to the west. Cloud in Ireland with some rain in western and southern areas. Dry over the UK with cloud breaking and sunny spells developing, the best sunshine in the east. Highs near 10 to 14C.



 
 
 

Friday 15/3/24
High pressure stays to the east. Fronts edging east bringing a cloudier day with some outbreaks of rain in western areas, rather cloudy too. Best of any brighter weather in the east. Highs near 10 to 14C.



 
 
 

Saturday 16/3/24
Low pressure over western Ireland on Saturday. This bringing cloud and periods of rain as well as breezy conditions. Drier in the east at first but then outbreaks of rain arriving here. Highs near 10 to 13C.

Sunday 17/3/24
Low pressure over the country on Sunday. Cloud and spells of rain, but heavy showers developing in southern and western areas, some thundery. Tops at 10 to 12C.
