An unsettled week with wind, rain and showers although it will be mild
The unsettled weather continues in the coming days. Periods of rain and strong winds, some of the rain heavy at times. Staying mild for many days although turning cooler by the end of the week.

Tuesday 20/2/24 Rain through northern England and southern Ireland as well as parts of southern Scotland. Drier and cloudy for central and southern areas of England. Heavy showers in western Scotland, these heavy and prolonged for some. A few brighter spells in the east of Scotland. Lots of mist, low cloud and drizzle over western and southern areas of Wales and England. Highs at 9 to 13C.
Wednesday 21/2/24 Wet and windy weather is likely to be affecting many areas on Wednesday as fronts move through the British Isles. There is a risk of gales in more western areas. Becoming drier and brighter in northern England, Ireland and Scotland with heavy showers over western coasts of Scotland. Turning brighter but with heavy showers in Ireland and the west of the UK later. Highs at 7 to 11C.
Thursday 22/2/24 Thursday may start dry in eastern areas, although rain soon arriving. Some heavy showers in the west merging to longer spells of rain, these moving east through all areas during the day. Highs near a chillier 5 to 7C in the north and west, 10C at first in the south and east.
Friday 23/2/24 Friday is likely to be a brighter day. Sunny spells and showers, heaviest in western areas. Fewer showers in the east where it could stay dry and sunny. Probably cooler for all. Highs at 6 to 9C after an early frost.
Saturday 24/2/24 A drier and brighter day on Friday with sunny spells. A few showers in western areas of the British Isles. Highs at 5 to 8C.
Sunday 25/2/24 Low pressure bring rain and showers on Saturday. These could be heavy, although turning colder and brighter int he west later. Highs at 6 to 10C.
