A cool week with overnight frost and fog, mostly dry although some snow showers in the north later

High pressure brings drier weather this week. It is ging to be cooler than recently with overnight frosts. Temperatures recover mid to late in the week although still feeling cool. Overnight fog may linger in some areas. By the end of the week some wintry showers may be affecting Scotland.

Wednesday 10/1/24
High pressure north of Scotland on Wednesday. A strong easterly flow affects England, Wales and Ireland. Cloud in eastern areas with some showers on coasts. Best sunshine in the west. Feeling chilly, especially in the breeze. Highs at 3 to 5C for most although 7C on eastern coasts.


 

Thursday 11/1/24
High pressure is over Scotland on Thursday. Another chilly day with a fair amount of cloud in eastern and southern areas. This breaks to leave some bright or sunny spells, the best in the west. Breezy in the south. Highs at 4 to 7C.



 
 
 

Friday 12/1/24
High pressure is over the British Isles on Friday. This brings plenty of dry weather. However, morning fog may be widespread and could be slow to clear, especially in northern England and Scotland. Once it has the day may be rather dull although some places will see sunshine. Highs at 4 to 7C.


 

Saturday 13/1/24
Higher pressure remains over the country on Saturday. This allows for dry conditions again but also some further fog in central and eastern areas. There may be some cloud in northern Scotland later. Highs at 4C to 6C.

Sunday 14/1/24
A front brings some sleet and rain into central and northern Scotland on Sunday, snow on hills. Dry and bright for other areas although feeling chilly. Highs at 3 to 5C.

Monday 15/1/24
Higher pressure remains on Monday. Mostly dry although mist and fog patches in England and Wales. Some snow showers northwestern Scotland. Highs at 3 to 5C.
