Cool and mixed with rain and showers for many, drier towards the weekend

Cool and mixed weather in the coming days. There is a risk of some heavier rain across central and southern areas on Thursday and Friday, ahead of the weather turning chiller again into the weekend. Conditions may then become drier through the weekend and into next week, although still some showers on coasts to the west, north and east.

Saturday 10/10/20
A brighter but colder northwest to northerly flow affects the whole of the British Isles on Saturday. Higher pressure west of Ireland with low pressure to the east. There will be a mix of sunshine and showers. Most showers in northern and eastern Scotland and eastern England where they may merge to give longer spells of rain. Fewer showers in the west where the best sunshine will be too. Highs at 10 to 13C.

Sunday 11/10/20
Higher pressure southwest of Ireland with low pressure to the east on Sunday. The result is a north to northwest wind but a fair day for many as well. Some showers around northern and eastern coasts, but generally drier elsewhere. A cold start to the day with a frost in places and then staying chilly with highs at 10 to 13C.
 

Monday 12/10/20
A weak front brings outbreaks of rain to many on Monday spreading from the northwest across the country. Far southeastern parts of England may stay dry until later in the evening though it becomes cloudier here throughout the day. Highs at 12 to 15C for most, just 9 to 11C across Scotland.

Tuesday 13/10/20
Brighter and cooler again on Tuesday. There will be showers again around the coasts of the west, north and east andlonger spells of rain may persist to the far southeast. Tending to be drier elsewhere with sunny spells. High temperatures range from 10 to 13C.

Wednesday 14/10/20
Wednesday may see brighter, drier conditions persist for most areas. An area of low pressure over Germany may bring outbreaks of patchy rain into southeast England however. Breezy here too. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Thursday 15/10/20
Thursday looks set to continue with a similar theme to Wednesday. Dry and bright but cool for most. Cloudier to the southeast with patchy outbreaks of rain here. Staying breezy here too. Highs range from 10 to 14C.
