Colder weather through the weekend and into next week, showery but then wetter

Turning significantly colder through the weekend and into next week. Some rain here and there for the weekend and windy in the south for a time. Becoming more shoery next week as the winds turn more northerly before turning weter into the middle of the week.

Saturday 9/5/26
A front pushing into southern England on Saturday bringing cloud and periods of thundery rain. This rain arriving in the south of Wales too. A front gives cloud to northern England and north Wales with showery bursts of rain here. Generally drier in central and eastern areas of England. Showers in the far north of Scotland. Ireland will be breezy and dry with broken cloud. Highs at a cold 8 to 10C in northern areas, 20C in southern England.

Sunday 10/5/26
Rain in central and northern Scotland on Sunday. The rain in southern England drifts away south. Brighter for other areas as bright or sunny spells break through the cloud. Windy in the far south. Highs at 9 to 14C.

A front edges south on Monday giving rain to southern Scotland and northern England, then southern and eastern areas of England. Turning brighter behind the front with sunny spells. Highs at a cold 8 to 12C.

More fronts pass east through Scotland on Tuesday with cloud and some outbreaks of light rain here. Brighter England, Wales and Ireland with some sunny spells breaking through. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Low pressure crossing the Brtish Isles on Wednesday. It may turn into a wetter day with a risk of some heavier periods of rain developing. Tops at 8 to 12C.

Thursday 14/5/26
Low pressure east of the country on Thursday. This brings a cold northerly wind with a mix of sunshine and showers. Highs at 6 to 12C.
