Cold with heavy showers, turning milder

Low pressure bringing showers for much of the week, some of them heavy and thundery at times. The showers will be prolonged at times. A few brighter days with sunny spells. Cold at first then becoming gradually milder.

Low pressure east of the country and the cold northerly breeze persists. Sunny spells in the morning, showers in much of northern and eastern Scotland, scattered elsewhere to start the day. The showers then turning heavier and thundery through the mid to late morning and into the afternoon. A risk of thunderstorms, especially in the east. Western Ireland may have cloud and some rain. Highs at 9 to 14C after a touch of ground frost in more sheltered areas.

Scattered showers in northern and eastern Scotland and eastern England on Friday. A ridge of high pressure building bringing dry weather and sunny spells as well as broken cloud. Increased cloud in western Ireland. Highs at 10 to 15C.

A front bringing cloud and rain to the west of Scotland and Ireland on Saturday, this reaching western areas of England and Wales in the afternoon. Brighter and drier in eastern areas and then in Ireland later. Highs at 11 to 15C.



 
 
 

Sunday 17/5/26
Low pressure west of Scotland on Sunday. Rain in much of central and western Scotland as well as Ireland. A few showers in more central and eastern areas with increasing cloud through the day here. Highs at 13 to 16C.

Fronts passing east through Monday taking cloud and rain with them. Perhaps drier for a time ahead of more rain arriving. Tops at 11 to 15C.

Tuesday 19/5/26
Periods of heavy showers and longer spells of rain on Tuesday. Some sunny spells between the showers. Highs at 13 to 17C.
